My husband Joe is God’s gift to me. God has such an amazing way of knowing who we need to have in our lives. He knew that at just the right moment, I would be open to His plan for my future with Joe.
Growing up I never really had a good role model for a godly husband or father. I went through most of my young adult life being treated poorly by men as I looked for love and acceptance in all the wrong ways.
But on that first day at my new job I meant Joe and it was love at first sight for him. (It sounds like I’m bragging, but that’s how it really happened.) It took me several months before I was convinced that he was the right man for me. But eventually, with God’s help, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
God has a way of doing that in our relationships. He brings just the right people at just the right time. God knows when we need just the right friend, family member or co-worker to help us look to Him. We don’t see them coming, and we hate it when they have to go, but while they are in our lives they accomplish His purpose.
Perhaps you are angry with God today because of someone He took away too soon. Maybe you don’t understand why your friend or your family member had to leave, or move or die. Or maybe you are wondering why He allowed a certain person into your life. We all have questions because we don’t always understand what God is doing in our lives. God’s ways and thoughts are so high up. We may not always understand His purposes but we can trust that His plans for us are good.
There is one person that will help you through whatever you are facing. That person is Jesus. The most important relationship anyone could ever have is a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus. It was not only love at first sight when He saw you, but He poured out His life on the cross for you and for me. Praise God we have an extravagant God who holds nothing back when it comes to His relationships.
Pray with me today that God will heal every one of our past and present hurts. Pray that He will grow every one of our relationships for His purpose. Will you join me in being “sold out” for God? There is no limit to what God will do with a heart that trusts in Him and is fully committed to Jesus.
